Arboretum of Monceau-sur-Sambre
Arboretum of Monceau-sur-Sambre

The Arboretum in the historic estate at Monceau-sur-Sambre is an ecological tour with 28 stops, where you can discover the various species of indigenous trees.

Explanations can be found on educational panels or by borrowing a walkman for which you pay a deposit or leave your Identity Card as security.

Monceau Castle (17th Century) has a noble past; its most famous visitor was Louis XIV at the end of the Dutch Wars. It is surrounded by a very large park designed by an architect of Versailles.

And to prolong the pleasure, make a detour to the arboretum in Serna Park at Jumet which will agreeably complete the day.
